Love is all around...
Welcome to my blog today. I have made some cards especilally for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight for November. Family circumstances meant that I wasn't able to contribute a project in October, so I'm super happy to be able to share something this month. Each month there is a different theme to work towards. This month the theme is LOVE in all its ways.
The best bit about this Highlight is that you can vote for your favourite projects. I would love it if you would vote for my project HERE. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so I would really appreciate it if you would VOTE for my project.
I was buzzing with ideas for this theme because there are so many directions to explore with it. I've chosen a couple to show you.
Above, is an anniversary card which is a revamped version of the card that I sent to my husband for our anniversary, which is shown below. For today's card I've chosen different colours and added some silver heat embossing, but I haven't changed the background because I love the repeating sentiment.
The Milestone Moments stamp does what it says in the name and covers a multitude of celebrations from anniversaries to birthdays to retirement to welcoming a new baby. The stamps are photopolymer and so you can see through them to line them up successfully. I have used the lovely heart from the You're So Sweet set and used the dies from the Mini Treat Bag thinlets to cut it and the mini heart out.
I've used the same ingredients, with the addition of some silver foil, to make my other cards to welcome a new baby. These cards mark the beginning of a lifetime filled with and celebrating all different types of love. I think that these could be sent as a "Congratulations" on the arrival of a new baby card or, equally, they would work as pretty announcement cards from the proud new parents.
A die-cut silver star sits neatly inside the silver embossed "hello" star and then they are topped off with a cute little banner, with its flag end concertinered underneath.
I hope you approve of my cards to celebrate LOVE in all its ways. Thank you for visiting my blog today. I'd be delighted if you visited Kylie's blog to vote for my project. I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop.

Blue Painted Harvest
Hello again and welcome back. When I saw the Painted Harvest set all I initially saw was yellow sunflowers. I adore sunflowers in the garden with their tall, strong stems and nodding heads or even the little dwarf teddy bear style ones that sit at the front of the border. This set is so much more than that though.
This card combines the beauty of the Painted Harvest set with a versatile greeting from the Label Me Pretty set. I stamped the blooms randomly over the left hand corner of the card. I always find it tricky to stamp randomly - I usually end up having a row of images! I wanted to have a mixture of full flowers alongside some partial blooms at the edges of the card.
The flower is made by stamping two different stamps one on top of the other to create texture and depth to the image. Firstly, I stamped the larger, bigger image in Pool Party ink followed by the second image in Marina Mist. To line the images up I used the hole in the centre of the flower as a guide, rotating the second stamp over the top until they line up. To finish off the centres of the flowers are stamped in Sahara Sand ink.
The sentiment is stamped using Marina Mist ink and punched out with a 1 1/2" circle punch which is then layered onto die cut circles. There is a twist of natural trim ribbon to finish, and not a single yellow sunflower in sight!
