Birthday Boys for Global Design Project #GDP083

In the middle of March we celebrated 16th birthdays for our eldest two children (double celebrations for twins!), and now it is the turn of some of their friends.  Girls cards always seem easy to make, don't they?  This time, however, I needed two cards to celebrate 16th birthdays for boys.  I hope you approve!

The Global Design Project this week is a theme based challenge to use sparkles/bling!  When I read about the theme, rhinestones and glitter were the things that immediately sprang to mind.  My cards are a long way from rhinestones and glitter...well those embellisments are a little more suited to the girlie half of the twin combo!

Finally, I decided that what I needed to complete the cards for the Birthday Boys was shine and the Urban Underground Embellishments.  Those elements, together with the Number of Years stamps and coordinating Large Numbers Framelits, are a perfect combination for a birthday card.  And, yes they are big shiny numbers!

Gift cards can be a great present.  Win win for everyone - you are giving something, and the recipient can choose exactly what they want to buy.

Gift cards can look a bit insignificant by themselves though.  So, while I was making cards I made up a monogrammed gift card holder as well.

Hopefully I have managed to successfully combine the Global Design Project criteria for sparkles/bling and fulfilled the requirement for a teenage boy's card and gift card!  What do you think?

  1. These are wonderful boy's significant birthday cards Karen. Just the right touches of masculine and modern, so suitable for boys at that age! Thank you so much for playing along again with this week's Global Design Project challenge! We love you playing along with us.
