Thank you, Perennial Essence

Hello and welcome to my blog and the first post for October. The cards I have to share with you today are super simple but still stunning. Stampin' Up! have challenged us to have fun making and sharing cards on a particular theme (thank you cards) and only use stamps, ink, paper and punches - October #simplestamping Challenge.

Sometimes sitting down to make a card is difficult because there are so many gorgeous products and ideas to excite me that I draw a blank and end up with nothing to show. Today, was different - I had a theme with a purpose. So, I pulled out some of my stamp sets containing a Thank You sentiment. I reached for Abstract Impressions, Daisy Delight and Itty Bitty Greetings. I also pulled out Daisy Lane and the matching Daisy punches.

Next, I needed papers and a colour scheme. I plumped for the Perennial Essence papers which are floral and arty having gorgeous Monet-like images. The Designer Series papers are always a good place to start as the papers speak for themselves and the colours are guaranteed to work harmoniously. For good measure I pulled out the Floral Essence stamps and coordinating punch.

My desk was filled with beautiful products and the ideas were flowwing. I am pleased that I have made several stunning cards in one sitting! I have teamed up Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive card with the pretty patterned paper.

The layout of the first card was inspired by a Christmas card I saw, designed by Sherry Wayt. I am sure that this layout will become one of my go to card making recipes. The patterned paper is the star of the show and the sentiment is bold and prominent in the middle of the card, supported by the pretty flower. I hope you can see the lustre The Golden Glitz ink has a wonderful lustre on the Blackberry Bliss card.

The second card is basically the same, but different! All I have done is rotated the orientation of the card and changed the sentiment.  The last card is cute and square and shows off the pretty paper to the max and still says thank you.

I hope you have been inspired by my #simplestamping cards and that you will have a go at making a card with stamps, ink, paper and punches.
