New Stampin' Blends colours are available!

The popularity of our alcohol markers meant that demand exceeded supply and, for some time, they have been unorderable.  I'm really happy to tell you that ALL the Blends are now available, including the 11 NEW COLOURS.

Who loves to colour?  I do!  And you?  I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Blends in the new colours.  Hopefully, they should arrive next week.  Yay!  In the meantime, I can show you a card that I made with some of the existing colours, using a design from the catalogue, and the fabulous Hostess set called Hand Delivered.

I have stamped the focal image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Shimmery white card and then coloured using Blends in a variety of shades to create an array of pretty balloons.  I used the Color Lifter to remove some of the colour on a couple of balloons to give a little dimension.  I have also die cut a couple of extra balloons and mounted them over the top to add depth.

The backgrounds are stamped using images from the same set.  I have used matching ink and card to give the lovely tone on tone colour.  There is a vellum layer,  some Baker's Twine and a delicate Happy Birthday message to finish off the card!

Will you do some therapeutic colouring today?  Happy crafting,

Garden Impressions for Global Design Project 144

Hello and welcome to my blog on this warm and sunny Friday afternoon.  Today, I'm sharing my entry for this week's challenge over on the Global Design Project.  It is a CASE the designer challenge.

When you CASE a project you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set - the colours, the layout, the theme, the images - whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

Here is the project to CASE this week:

http://www.global-design-project.com/2018/06/global-design-project-144-case-designer.html

Isn't this a beautiful card?  The features that stand out to me are the Share What You Love papers (I adore these papers!), the pearlized doily and the flag finish on one of the layers.  So, I have focused on these when I designed my card.

This is how I build my card!  The pretty Garden Impressions papers have been sitting on my desk patiently waiting to be used, and this was a perfect opportunity.  The difficulty was choosing which of the patterns to use.  The dainty flowers on the cool Soft Sea Foam background jumped out at me when I flicked through the pad, so I pulled out this piece to start with.  Next, I looked for a background.  As soon as I held the patterened paper over some Night of Navy card it popped and I knew I wanted some more Soft Sea Foam to feature in the card, so that become the base.  I embossed the Night of Navy layer using the Subtle embossing folder.  It might be called Subtle, but it adds so much to the card!  The panel with the flag finish is made with the Handwritten stamp on Petal Pink card with matching ink.  It echoes Charlet's card nicely.

The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy on Soft Sea Foam card to help tie in all the colours and I've added a pearlized doily underneath.  Finishing touches are a couple of die cut flowers topped with pearls, a swoosh of Wink of Stella (of course!) and a twist of pearlised thread from the Share What You Love Embellishment kit.

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you like my interpretation of Charlet's card.

Happy crafting,

Abstract Impressions for Random Acts Of Kindness Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Random Act of Kindness (RAK) Blog Hop.  You are visiting Karen Henderson in England.  I am so happy to be showcasing the cards I have given and received as part of the Random Act of Kindness Group on Facebook.

Each month, we each select a few people from the Group to send a RAK card to, to brighten their day. Please feel free to join the Group if you would like to participate in the RAK cards movement (blogging is not mandatory). If you would like to join our awesome group here is the link to the group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/randomactsofkindnessgroup/

These are the cards I have made using the Abstract Impressions stamps, together with the Subtle embossing folder, some circle dies and a swoosh of shimmer from the Wink of Stella pen.  For the greenery I stuck with the same combination of Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz but for the flowers
I have had such fun experimenting with different colour combinations and I'll show you a few of my favourites!  The first pair feature Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather - don't they look fabulous together?

Next, there is Flirty Flamingo with Melon Mambo.

There is also a lovely soft combination of Calypso Coral with Petal Pink!

I also tried flowers stamped in Mango Melody/Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade/Petal Pink, but the light faded before I snapped thier photo.  As I hot footed my way to the post office with my envelopes I wore a huge smile...participating in this wonderful group brings me so much pleasure.  It was fun trying out the different colours and making up a batch of cards.  Sharing them makes me happy.

These are the cards I have received in June:

Laura Buechler - this was sent in May, but it travelled all the way from America, so I didn't recieve it until June.  I am really going to miss these papers!

Nicky Morgan - the Graceful Glass Vellum looks stunning wrapped around the vanilla layer.  Such a clever way to attach this gorgeous paper to a card.

I hope the projects you've seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day.  You are currently visiting Karen Henderson.  Please see the list below & hop around all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don't want to miss any!
