You've Got This Colour Challenge!

Hello! My card today is a cute notecard sized message of encouragement.  Over the past few weeks I have made quite a lot of cards to encourage my eldest two children during their GCSE exams, but I forgot to use this particular message.  How remiss of me!  Thankfully, the exams are now behind us; just have to wait for the results!  Even so, I really wanted to use this sentiment for today's card.

There is a colour challenge over on the Global Design Project this week, and the selection includes my favourite In Colors and the third colour is also a firm favourite!  The colours to use are Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Pool Party.

As soon I saw this colour combination I knew that I wanted to use some of the fabulous washi tape that has been included in this catalogue.  There are three different colourways, plus a black and white selection.  Broadly speaking there is a blue, a green and a red/pink set and each one has five different patterns.  The pretty stripes on the left hand side of the card show off three of the patterns.

For added texture the layer is embossed with the Ruffled embossing folder.  It is a new dynamic folder, which is thicker than the ordinary folders and creates embossing that is deep and luxurious.

The notecard is made from Berry Burst card and to coordinate the sentiment is stamped using Berry Burst ink too.  The sentiment sits on three layers of different coloured circles made from punches and dies.  As is often the case with me I couldn't decide between the Pool Party layer or the Whisper White one.  What do you think?

Gosh, that is a lot of writing about a card that was very quick to pull together!
