Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I am participating in the New at SU! blog hop. I am so happy to be creating again. I had a poorly shoulder so I had a bit of an enforced break from crafting. Sigh! Anyway I am super happy to be hopping again - we are a group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative papercrafting ideas to share with you to get you crafting. The theme this month is Handcrafted Hearts. Projects that focus on Love, Weddings, Anniversaries or Valentines are the order of the day and as I love anything heart shaped this is right up my street!
As soon as I saw the Love Notes Designer Series Paper I could visualise these cards! They are simple cards, using some of my go to card recipies, allowing the DSP to shine! I have teamed the papers up with words from the Reason to Celebrate stamps and the shapes from the Endless Love dies.
The split front of the card allows two patterns from the DSP to shine and then a die cut heart forms the focal point. The words are heat embossed using white powder and mounted to make them pop.
Valentine's is raised on dimensionals to add a bit more interest.
The next split front card uses the same heart shape but this time the decoration is a fussy cut flower arrangement, which is raised up on Dimensionals, instead of the words. For added decoration this time there are tiny die cut hearts and some of the Loose Valentine's Assortment embellishments together with a twist of Bakers Twine.
My other two cards use a square die from the Stylish Shapes to crop out one of the square images on the DSP, which I then used as a focal point. The papers are adorable, so I think my simple approach works!
Ordinarily I don't think I would mix pink and red, but with these papers, and especially for for Valentine's Day, I think it works. What do you think about Real Red and Flirty Flamingo together? I hope that you have been inspired by my cards today. Continuing along the hop to the others will provide you with even more project ideas - you are currently with me, Furry Cat Designs by Karen Henderson - but before you hop on to the next post, please take a moment to leave a comment. We love reading your comments!
