Pretty Florals for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. This group has had a short creative break, but I am excited to say that I am hopping with I
nk and Inspiration team again today. I have chosen to feature products from the Florals in Bloom Suite, together with a few of my favourite go to dies for this project.

Our inspiration comes from a sketch this month. I have used the elements of the sketch, although I may have adjusted the proportions of the elements.

I started by stamping some flowers using the colour palette used in the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper. The DSP has a lot of different coloured flowers and I quickly decided to restrict my selection to Strawberry Slush paired with Pretty in Pink, Timid Tiger (full strength and stamped off) plus Granny Apple Green for the leaves.

Selecting Timid Tiger surprised me, because I don't normally choose orange flowers and I don't stamp with it very often either! The pink and orange flowers seemed to sit pleasantly together, so I rolled with it and continued to create a little bouquet of blooms.

The flowers are created using two stamps; one for the background and another one for the detail. I prefer to stamp the lighter colour for the background first and then go back over with the darker shade. You can use one ink pad and use the second generation of ink to achieve the paler shade for the background, which I did with the Timid Tiger ink. Alternatively, you can use colour buddy ink pads which are naturally lighter and darker shades. For example, Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink.

I created layers using the Textured Notes dies - one is cut from the Woven Textures DSP and the other is simply Basic White overstamped with text and splatters from the Elements of Text set. I used Crumb Cake Ink stamped off a couple of times to give a really faded impression to complement both the Crumb Cake base card and the DSP.

I curled the petals and leaves of the flowers and foliage between my thumb and bone folder to add texture before adhering them to the card using a mixture of Mini Dimensionals and Glue Dots. The sketch includes a tag shape and I have too - granted it's a mini one, but it is the perfect size for the hello from the Sweet Blooms set. The tag is the smallest tag from the Nested Essentials set which, as the name suggests, is very useful!

Obviously I needed to add a linen thread bow, because a bouquet wouldn't be complete without one! And, finally, I added some bling in the form of holographic dots.

I hope that you are inspired by my card today and that you will continue along the hop to see what the others have created too - click on the names below to enjoy their  projects. We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.

Celebratory Sips for the New at SU! Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I am participating in the New at SU! blog hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative papercrafting ideas to share with you to get you crafting. This month we are showcasing projects using Suites from the new Annual Catalogue or from the Online Exclusives released in May 2025.

For my project this month I am using products from the Celebratory Sips Suite. I love the happy colours included in the DSP and the images are a joy to fussy cut.

Every now and again it is necessary to have little reorganisation in and around my desk. This serves several purposes for me: to find homes for new purchases, to put away a pile of recently used things and to reacquaint myself with things that I had forgotten I owned! On my most recent mission to tidy my supplies I found a stash of small square envelopes that I had squirrelled away. So, I decided to make some small square cards. Of course, the square cards could go in our normal, standard envelopes too.

I'm hoping to make a few square cards to use up the envelopes...I might even make a little box for them to go in so that they can sit on my desk. It's funny how your creative brain jumps from one idea to the next.

On with the cards I have made so far with the Celebratory Sips products! The first one showcases the wonderful embossing folders. They are smaller slimline style folders and I've used them to add texture to three strips which form the background on my card. Next, I added some fussy cut images from the Designer Series Paper. The coloured shape can be used to stamp tumblers on to thereby creating pretty cocktails, but I have simply added a shape as a pop of colour behind the bottle and glass. Together
the drinks, the embossed white background and the Strawberry Slush card base give a truly fruity, fresh feel to the card.

The second card also showcases the small fussy cut images from the DSP. This time I've used tone on tone stamping to decorate the Berry Burst base card and layered up some squares die cut from DSP as the background. The tangle of stalks where the image is repeatedly stamped is conveniently hidden beneath the subsequent layers. The drinks are again displayed on Basic White, but this time on a die cut circle.

Both cards feature the Gold Striped Mesh ribbon, to add an element of shine, and the dainty sentiments from the set. Simple finishing touches that add that something extra!

I hope that you have been inspired by my makes today. I am raring to make some more and I have plenty more images ready to use. Continuing along the hop to the others will provide you with even more creative ideas - you are currently with me, Furry Cat Designs by Karen Henderson - but before you hop on to the next post, please take a moment to leave a comment. We love reading your comments!
