Merry Moose

Hello and welcome to my blog! I have been away for so long and I have missed crafting and sharing creations with you. I am relieved to say that the work in our kitchen is nearly complete and that the rest of the house has been restored to normality...almost! I have reclaimed my craftroom and I can now access my desk and supplies. YAY!

To ease myself back into a creative zone I decided to take a new stamp set and to CASE the catalogue. The Merry Moose set is a returning favourite from last year. However, I only recently purchased this fun stamp / punch bundle, so it's all new too me. It can be found on p27 of the August - December Mini catalogue. Instead of using the Poinsettia Place DSP as they did on the sample in the catalogue, I teamed the images up with another returning favourite - the Toile Tidings papers. I used these papers so much last winter, so I was very happy to see them return again this year.

After I had worked out how I was going to do my card I cut a pile of ingredients for a mini production line.

The larger of the trees is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card for a subtle tone on tone effect in the background of the main layer. The moose is stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, punched out with the coordinating punch and mounted on dimensionals on the background. Early Espresso is used for the words too so that they are clear and bold.

A strip of the Toile Tidings paper and the stamped piece are both layered onto Real Red card before mounting on to the card front.
To tie everything together and to add a shiny finishing touch I added some Red Rhinestones! Some bases are Crumb Cake and some are Soft Suede - which one do you prefer?

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop November 2020

Hello! Today I am participating in a blog hop organised by Kylie and Bruno Bertucci as part of their Demonstrator Training Program. We are a group of Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in training that is helping us with our
Stampin' Up!® business. I am so pleased to welcome you to my blog today for this blog hop.

We are sharing ideas for thank you cards to send to our customers that shop with us during the month. I have made the same fun fold card in a several colours using only a few supplies. They could easily be made with just stamps, ink and card but I added a textured layer using the Tasteful Texture embossing folder and a little colouring too.

Our kitchen renovations are ongoing, so the house is still upside down and the path to my craft space is still littered with too many non-crafty items! I was determned to make enough space on my desk to create a few cards and, although the supplies were limited, I think that the cards do still have impact. The stamping is simple but  is enhanced by colouring. The coffee beans are filled in using a light Crumb Cake Blend and the coffee cups are accented with a Chalk Marker. I am so pleased that I used the Press On stamps for the very first time! Finally!

I knew that I wanted to use Early Espresso for these cards - well you can't make a coffee themed card without using it, can you? Crumb Cake is an obvious partner and I chose the other colours to provide a splash of colour.

I'm really pleased with how they turned out and I think that the Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness and Calypso Coral really pop against the Early Espresso. Which one do you like best?

I've continued the coffee theme throughout the layers and left space to write a message too.
