Painted Seasons coordination!

Welcome to my blog today. I am so pleased to be taking part in Kylie's International Highlights again this month. The theme for March is Encouragement - the idea is to send someone a kind word when they most need it.  Maybe to say Get Well Soon, You are Fabulous or a well deserved Thank You.  Any of these are great reasons to make and send a card!  Afterall, that is what we love doing, right?

The best bit about this Highlight is that you can vote for your favourite five projects in the gallery.  At the end of the voting, the top ten winners will get the chance to be part of an international blog hop later this month.  I would love to take part in the hop so I would really appreciate it if you would visit the gallery and VOTE for my card.

I am loving the Painted Season stamps and I wanted to start using the papers too. They are so pretty, and as the name suggests there are patterns for all seasons! You could even get ahead with your Christmas cards!

I've mixed glorious florals with a less vibrant pattern to make a bridge fold card. This style of fancy fold card is new to me and is actually easy to construct. I found examples by Jackie Bultje and Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek by scrolling through Pinterest and used them for the basic dimensions. I love the finished result. The best bit is that it folds flat for posting and fits in a standard sized envelope. I'm sure to make some more of them.

How did I make it? I used my paper trimmer for all the cutting and scoring and the new Sale-A-Bration coordination dies to cut out the flowers and leaves for the decoration. The sentiment is from the Incredible Like You stamp set. I have used these particular words quite a bit. They are wonderful and I think they work well for birthdays and for those "Just Because" situations that really make the difference to someone's day.

Card Base measures 20cm x 10.5cm, scored at 3cm, 6cm, 14cm and 17cm

Patterned layers each measure 2.7cm x 10.2cm, central layers measure 7.7cm x 10.2cm and 7.4cm x 9.9cm

"Bridge" measures 14cm x 3cm and the embossed layer is 13.7cm x 2.7cm. To adhere the bridge section to the card: concertina in one side and stick the bridge to the top layer only. Repeat on the other side.

I have used is the fabulous Country Floral dynamic textured impressions embossing folder to make a feature of the "bridge" element of the card.  The texture from the folder is just stunning, and could be the main feature of a card all by itself - it's a level 1 Sale-A-Bration item, so you can earn it for FREE with purchases of £45 (before shipping and handling).
