Good Evening! I'd like to say that I've been too busy creating to write a blog post. The truth is that my creativity has evaporated and I've been struggling to make anything.
A few days ago I thought that a good sort out was in order. I ended up with a clean and tidy desk, with everything put back in its place... but I was still struggling to pull anything together that I liked or looked how I wanted it to. Last night I decided that I HAD to make something.
I started with the Pick a Pattern papers and the Pieces & Patterns stamps. The paper is gorgeous. I'll admit that the colours aren't my favourite, but the cuteness of the images makes them absolutely adorable. I looked at each page for quite a while, gave myself a good talking to and told myself that it was OK to cut into the paper because I can always buy some more if I use it all up!
The words are stamped in Basic Black ink and filled in using a Stampin' Write Marker (or you could use ink from your Crushed Curry ink pad and apply with a blender pen or an aqua painter). I've used a variety of circle punches to create the layers and some black strips with flag ends, created by the Triple Banner punch, to create a rosette.
The little critters are adorable. Fussy cutting them out didn't take too long and it was delightfully therapeutic. So satisfying to take the flat piece of paper and to bring them alive ready to pop onto the card front!
The "From All of Us" message was made using the Labeler Alphabet stamps. These are so easy to use. Absolutely perfect for custom made sentiments!
The creative cogs in my head are starting to whir again and there are a few projects that I want to recreate from the catalogue. So, I am hoping that now I have started, my creativity will return with a vengeance.
