Hand-Penned Petals - International Project Highlights for August 2021

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Project Highlights for August 2021 - the theme is Thank you. Thank you cards can come in all shapes and sizes and could be for customers, or for gifts or to recognise those small acts of kindness that can sometimes be overlooked. Cards to say thank you are the ones that I make the most of, and I try to have a stock of them on hand just waiting to be sent! I always enjoy making and sending them.

The Hand-Penned Suite has stolen my heart and has taken up permanent residence on my desk. As the name suggests, the stamp set enables you to add beautifully written sentiments to your cards - my two favourite sentiments are anything is possible and thanks, but I am hoping that I can put the more plainly written congratulations to good use over the next few days. Fingers crossed! There are also some gorgeous sprays of flowers.

I took a slightly topsy turvy approach to making this card and even before I had decided how the finished card was going to look, I knew I wanted to use the Genial Gems, which are part of this suite, to embellishment it! They are faceted glitter gems and they come in two colours - Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya. Colour scheme sorted!

To create a crisp, fresh looking card I have only used Basic White and Mint Macaron but, I have added depth and interest by adding several diffrent white elements. I added die cut flowers, an embossed layer and a bow made from white crinkle seam binding ribbon. The
Scalloped Contours dies act as a perfect frame for a little picture which then sits on a Basic White background layer stamped with Mint Macaron flowers. Finally, I added the Genial Gems to the flower centres and a bit more sparkle in the form of Wink Of Stella splatters.

As mentioned at the beginning I am entering Kylie's International Project Highlights and you can follow the link to the gallery where you will find heaps more inspiration AND you can vote for your favourite five projects. At the end of the voting the Top Ten winners will be invited to take part in a blog hop at the end of the month.

I would love to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate your help. Please would you visit the gallery and vote for my card? Click on the little heart on my card, which is number 10.
