Simply Snow Front
Hello and welcome to my blog. I am in full swing with my Christmas cards and I have used this stamp set a lot. Scenic snowscapes can be created with ease and there isn't even the need to don a ski jacket to enjoy the view.
I showcased this stamp set at a class last week and this is one of the designs that I demonstrated how to make. I'm looking forward to sharing these cards with another group at the weekend too.
The colours I have used are Pool Party, Real Red and Whisper White. It's a colour combination which has an icy feel about it and works well with these stamps. The front of the base card measures just 9.9cm square. It's perfect for this little scene and you can cut three card bases from one sheet of A4 card. Very economical!
I stamped the clever little snow swoosh stamp in Pool Party ink. It creates some depth and provides a perfect place to ground the trees and the deer. The bare trees have an atmospheric silhouette and are stamped in Early Espresso whilst the deer are stamped in Soft Suede. The greeting comes from the Itty Bitty Christmas set and is stamped in Real Red.
After assembling the card the final step was to add some glitter. I used my Tombow glue, very sparingly, to add dots in the sky, representing falling snow, and highlights beneath the snow drifts. Then I added some Ice Stampin' Glitter. It has a chrystaline, sugar like texture and when it catches the light the sparkle is gorgeous.
I like the simplicity of the design and the feeling of deep, crisp white snow. It isn't the bleak mid-winter it is a sparkly wonderland. I hope you like it too.
