I can always find room for something heart shaped! Either to craft with or to wear as a piece of jewellery, so I am particularly fond of the All My Love Suite filled with heart shaped stamps, dies and epoxyy shapes together with some beautiful papers. Today, I am sharing a card ready for a special someone on Valentine's Day. It's indulgent on my part to use the hearts, but it's never to early to start these projects (and the supplies are great for anniversaries and weddings too!).
The background is created by repeatedly stamping the words all over the Melon Mambo card front using matching ink. The feature heart is a die cut shape that has been cut from Flirty Flamingo card and the gorgeous Sale-A-Bration Lovely Lipstick foil. This particular die cuts both a solid shape and a scallop-edges frame at the same time, so when you cut it from two different colours you can deconstruct them and mix and match colours as I have done here. The solid shape was embossed using the Tufted folder to give the added texture.
The banner is stamped, then pleated at each end to add some height and the ends were shaped using the triple banner punch. To finish there is a mini heart and a frilly border cut from other dies within the set.
Making this card made me happy! The supplies make me smile and warm my heart. I hope that the person opening the envelope will smile too. Are you ready to send a Valentine message to your sweetheart?

Welcome back to my blog for a slice of papercrafting heaven. It's Friday, and I'm looking forward to the weekend for time to catch up with friends and a large chunk of crafting time! I have ideas buzzing round my head to try. Sometimes, there is a need for a card in a hurry and these cards came about for just that reason. They came together quickly but still manage to pack a punch.
The sentiment from the Abstract Impressions stamp set is one of my favourites and has been stamped many times since I first bought the set. These words are so important. Kindness changes everything. The flowers from the set are also stunning. It's a winning combination for me.
The flowers and leaves are two step stamps which, although it sounds complicated, are easy to put together. The stamps are photopolymer, so you can see through them to place them where you want, and they are so cleverly designed that it doesn't seem to matter whether or not they are perfectly lined up. They always look stunning.
I used Rich Razzleberry for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves and sentiment. I positioned the darker flowers and leaves around the words before stamping the lighter layers. The two tone effect is created by stamping off onto scrap paper before stamping on the actual card to create a lighter shade of the same colour. I altered the second card by stamping the Handwritten words to soften the background.
The cards are the same size as our regular notecards, but I cut them from Rich Razzleberry coloured card and the Sahara Sand layer for stamping on is slightly smaller than the card front. It is really easy to do:
- Cut the card 5" x 7" and score at 3 1/2" (card front is 5" x 3 1/2")
- The layer measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/4"
I usually work in metric measurements, but the size of the notecards lend themselves to imperial ones! For those of you who prefer metric measurements they are:
- Cut the card base 12.7cm x 17.8cm and score at 12.7cm x 8.9cm (card front is 12.7cm x 8.9cm)
- the layer measures 12.1 cm x 8.3cm

The Incredible like you stamp set is fantastic. I played with it for the first time at the weekend when I made up the cards from the coordinating Project Kit, and now I'm hooked. You can see my earlier post for details about the Project Kit. I was instantly drawn to the beautiful flowers but now I love the sentiments too. I can see uses for Valentine's, weddings and anniversaries with the 'I just adore you' and there are a multitude of uses for the 'incredibly proud of you'. How wonderful would it be to receive a card with either 'so glad we are friends' or 'hope your day is amazing as you' on it? Ok, I'll stop swooning. These sentiments are lovely. Perfect for sending a little (or big) hug in an envelope!
This is another card featuring the beautiful flower stamp, and again I was inspired by the cards in the project kit. One of the kit designs has a trellis laser-cut overlay on top of an ombre background. So, I created an ombre background using three of the inks from the Brights collection.
I have repeatedly stamped the flowers, overlapping them slightly, using Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo. The flowers cover the lower protion of the card allowing the sentiment to dominate and the little dots just soften the white space!
The flowers are all piled on top of one another and I think that the ombre effect adds to the illusion.
