Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products. This month in the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop we are creating projects with a Christmas in July theme.
There were several inspirational pictures and colour combinations to choose from this month. I selected the traditional green and red combo to work with.
The colours are Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Real Red, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. I managed to incorporate every colour except for Crumb Cake!
The Christmas theme and the green colours immediately made me think of the Frosted Forest bundle. It's one of the new Online Exclusive offerings - I have used a few on my card today!
I stamped the outline of the trees using Garden Green, to provide a dark, structured outline, and then filled in the body of the tree by adding ink through the masks using blending brushes. There are three masks to create layers of colour giving depth to the images. I used two layers of Granny Apple Green, creating a deeper shade, before adding a final layer of Garden Green.
I created a selection of trees on Basic White and Granny Apple Green card and then die cut some of them using the coordinating dies. In addition, I used one of the circle dies from the Spotlight on Nature set to cut part of a tree out. Then I layered it up over a Granny Apple Green tree and added another smaller tree in the foreground.
Heat embossing is one of my favourite techniques to use, and so I couldn't resist adding some for the greeting. It's another new Online Exclusive set called Greetings of the Season (the DSP comes in a 6" x 6" stack called Iconic Celebrations). To continue the tree theme I embossed the matting layer of Garden Green card using the Timber 3-d folder. I added some gold trim and a few of the gold Blooming Pearls to coordinate with the gold heat embossing.
I am happy to have tried out so many of the new Online Exclusive products on this card and can't wait to use them again. Whilst I cannot believe that we are already in July, I am grateful to have made a start to my Christmas cards!
This was so much fun to put together and I hope that I have inspired you. Please continue along the hop to see what the others have created too...enjoy the projects! We would love to hear from you and so if you have been inspired, please leave a comment.
