Magical Meadow Thank You for the International Highlights Winner's Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. Earlier in the month, I participated in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights and after the voting had closed I was delighted to find myself in the Top Ten!

Thank you so much to everyone who visited the gallery and voted for my card. If you missed it, you can read all about it here. I am absolutely thrilled to be eligible to take part in this winner's hop.

For my card for today I have chosen to use some of the same products, but this time I've only used stamps...no die cuts! I've used similar colours and built in texture by overlapping the stamped images and embossing one of the layers.

This is how I made it! Starting with a small rectangle of Basic White card I stamped various sprigs of foliage. I used Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock ink pads for the two leafy sprays. The spray with the foliage and the berries/flowers was inked using the brush tip of my Stampin' Write Markers - I chose Blueberry Bushel and Garden Green.

To emphasise the Blueberry Bushel I added a slim layer of that coloured card behind the stamping - doesn't it make it pop? Next, I stamped the thanks from the Biggest Wish set again using Blueberry Bushel and then fussy cut it. I'm not the greatest at fussy cutting, but I took my time and I think it worked out ok.

Before I finished layering up the card I added some splatters of sparkle from a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. When the splatters catch the light they are so pretty. I wrapped a length of Silver Trim around the stamped and textured layers before adding the thanks and a Silver Trim bow. A few Adhesive Backed Glitter Sequins add another dash of sparkle!

Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am taking part in a blog hop with some fellow enthusiasts who love sharing their creative talents using their Stampin' Up!® products. This month the Stamping Inkspirations blog hop is sketch challenge.

This is the sketch we have for inspiration for our projects this month.

The Les Shoppes suite immediately jumped to mind when I saw this sketch! Fussy cutting the shops from the DSP was fun! I combined a couple of the buildings to create my two story shop which I mounted onto a layer of Calypso Coral card. Again, I fussy cut around the border to provide a shadow around the outside of the building.

For the background I added stripes of DSP, as per the sketch, and then embossed the entire layer thereby embedding the DSP into the textured pattern. Choosing the neutral Smokey Slate allows the Calypso Coral elements to pop! The sentiment is simply stamped in Basic Gray ink on a Smokey Slate banner.

Magical Meadow Thank You card for Kylie's International Blog Highlights - October 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my card to entry to Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for October 2023 - the theme is Thank you. The Magical Meadow bundle has images of some beautiful foliage, and the coordinating dies are fabulous. Limiting myself to a small selection of colours (taken directly from the matching Designer Series Paper), I stamped and die cut a pile of images to create with. 

I used a couple of Stampin' Write Markers to colour the spray of foliage which creates the background - the Blueberry Bushel berries really pop against the Garden Green foliage and then I added a sprig or two stamped in Pretty Peacock before embossing the white layer using the Exposed Brick folder.

Next, I added a selection of foliage using Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate and Vellum cardstocks to form a pretty array. I liberally applied Wink of Stella to the leaves to add sheen and shimmer! I have also added a twist of silver ribbon beneath the label and a trio of Glitter Sequins to complete the arrangement. 

For further texture and interest the arrangement is framed using a die-cut panel from the Scalloped Contours set and another embossed layer, this time using one of the Basics folders from the Online Exclusive range. This little card reminds me of pretty cottage gardens - oh how I wish I could achieve that in my garden!
