Thanks a ton - International Highlights Winners Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. Earlier in the month I took part in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights and after the voting closed I was thrilled to find myself in the top ten, and hence eligible to take part in this winners blog hop.

Thank you so much to everyone who visited the gallery and voted for my card. If you missed it, you can read about it here.

The card for today's blog hop is the same but different! It uses the same suite of products and it's also a fun fold card, but I've changed the way I have put them together.

The base card is made from Just Jade and is topped with a layer of Designer Series Paper and a thinner layer embossed with the Seabed folder. For a change, this time the flap is circular! It was made by placing the largest scalloped layering circle die on a folded piece of Just Jade card with the edge of the die over hanging the fold slightly so that it doesn't cut a complete circle, thereby creating a flap.

I layered a second scalloped circle in Pretty Peacock over the top to contrast with the DSP and adorned the seabed with a whale, some seaweed, made from sheer ribbon and the Sprig punch, and a Thanks a ton banner. The inside of the flap has Whisper White die cut circles decorated with little fish.

My favourite bit about this card is the bubbles in the water. They are simply small dots of glue from the fine-tipped glue pen! I also added a blob on the whale's eye to make it raised and shiny.

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop September 2020

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am thrilled to be taking part in a blog hop with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie Bertucci's training program. There is no theme for the hop, but there is sure to be a wealth of inspiration for creating with Stampin' Up! products.

I have learnt so much through this training and although this is the last hop for this group, I have already joined for the next year and I am sure that there will be more blog hops! The card I have to share with you today uses the fabulous Snowflake Splendour Suite from the August to December Mini catalogue - you can see the products and samples on pages 36 - 38. The colours used on the patterned papers are just beautiful together - Highland Heather, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Misty Moonlikght and Night of Navy - cool yet pretty. My go to winter colour combination is blue, white and silver, so this combination is right up my street! Even though I haven't used the papers on this card I have used some of the colours.

This set is perfect for getting a head start with your Christmas cards, but there are also non-Christmas sentiments that are fabulous to celebrate special friendships and to say thank you too. I have combined Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy with Whisper White for my wintry card, and I must admit that I really like the minty, crisp combination.

The Whisper White panel is stamped randomly with the larger of the snowflake splatter stamps. It nestles neatly within the stitched edge of the Stitched So Sweetly die which is popped up with Dimensionals over the Winter Snow embossed layer. I have layered two ribbons up across the middle of the white panel - the Snowflake Splendor one is iridescent and teams up really well with the narrow navy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns combo pack.

The die cut snowflakes are decorated with Basic Rhinestones and a layer of glimmer from the Wink of Stella pen. Sparkles are obligatory snowflakes aren't they?

We are currently enjoying some very sunny weather, for the time of year, here in Hertfordshire so it seems very strange to be making and sharing cards featuring snowflakes! However, I am glad to be able to add another Christmas card to my pile and I have my fingers crossed that the warm weather continues for a while longer.

Thank you for visiting my blog today - you are currently visiting Karen Henderson. Please look at the list below to see who to visit next. I am sure you will find lots of inspiration on your journey around the hop. Make sure you don't miss any!
