Hello
and welcome to my blog. I am thrilled to be taking part in a blog hop
with fellow demonstrators, from around the world, who are part of Kylie
Bertucci's training program. There is no theme for the hop, but there is
sure to be a wealth of inspiration for creating with Stampin' Up!
products.
The weather is scorching here today so I've delved into my box of new goodies from the Autumn Winter catalogue and picked out the Snowflake Wishes and Coming Home stamp sets in a bid to cool down the temperature. Will using cool colours and snowflakes do the trick, I wonder?
The Winter Snow embossing folder has a delicate all over snowflake design which is a perfect backdrop for my wintry scene. For the central panel I used the fabulous rectangle die from the Nature's Thoughts set and stamped the teeny tiny snowflakes from the Snowflake Wishes set all over it. I used Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. Then I applied blue ink over the top using a sponge brayer. The white heat embossing resisits the ink and all you need to do is wipe away any excess ink that sits on the top of it using a tissue to reveal the crisp white snowflakes.
I have a sponge brayer for each colour type: blue, green, pink etc and although I am convinced that I used Pool Party ink for the background, I have now realised that there is a distinctly Balmy Blue hue to it. I can only guess that the brayer's last use had been with Balmy Blue! The blue sky looks ok to me though.
The houses are stamped in Misty Moonlight, die cut and then coloured with Blends. I have a stack ready prepared for some therapeutic colouring whilst sitting near the fan! The Home Together dies that coordinate with the stamps include a couple of dies suitable to cut a landscape, one plain and one with trees. I cut two pieces, including trees, and then created the stepped landscape by die cutting the pieces again, this time with the Nature's Thoughts rectangle.
I sandwiched some Snowflake Splendour ribbon between the layers and added a liberal covering Wink Of Stella to the snow. I wonder, do you prefer the simple house or the extended one?
