Here is my card from the October Highlight.
I have had my thinking cap on for a while for card to share today. I knew which stamp set I wanted to use and sat down with plenty of time to "play". The finished card wasn't the same as the card in my head. I added ribbon, a button and shimmer, but it just wasn't right. I was frustrated! I left my desk and came back a few hours later and decided to start again! Same stamp set, but a totally different card. Here is take 2!
I have used the P.S. You're the Best stamps to make this cute tent card using Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide. I love the vintage typewriter image. The paper escaping from it gives a blank canvas for messages of all types. The stamp set includes some great messages, one of which I have customised using the Make a Difference letters.
My background is all Mint Macaron (card and ink) and is made by repeatedly stamping the "splatter" stamp, after stamping off onto scrap paper first, and the collection of letters all around the edge of the layer. The vintage typewriter is heat embossed in silver and then fussy cut out. I used my Aquapainter to watercolour the image in - I transferred some Tranquil Tide and Smoky Slate ink onto an acrylic block to use as a palette.
To finish off the background I have added a few strips of washi tape and some Tranquil Tide "ribbon" made with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch. The silver metallic thread is secured to the back of the typewriter using glue dots. I added a few more glue dots to secure the whole piece to the front of the card making it sit proud of the card, without using the height of dimensionals.
The dimensions of the card I used to make the tent are as follows:
Mint Macaron base 10cm x 26.5cm (scored at 10cm, 20cm, 22.5cm, 25cm)
Tranquil Tide layer 9cm x 9cm
Mint Macaron layer 8.6cm x 8.6cm
Shimmery White for the typewriter

Welcome back to my blog at the start of another new week. I have another couple of Festive Farmhouse makes to show today. I have stuck with the traditional colour pallete featured in the coordinating Designer Series Paper pack - Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler.
The sentiment forms the focal point of the card. Simply stamp the words twice (once in Mossy Meadow and then again in Cherry Cobbler), then die cut and layer them up.
Some bakers twine is wrapped around the middle, which cleverly hides the join between the layers of paper, and is tied through one of the fabulous galvanised buttons. This suite includes a pack of Festive Farmhouse cotton twine, which includes three colours Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla. I don't have that pack, so I substitiuted some Garden Green Baker's Twine from the Santa's Workshop suite instead. The greens are both dark shades, and I think it works well here. Can you see I have also used the Stitched Shaped dies to add a further layer of Mossy Meadow? I do love incorporating those dies.
This final card combines elements from today's card and the card I shared last time, which you can see here. By mixing and matching some of my favourite elements I have made a new, slightly different card. Which one is your favourite? How would you mix up the elements?

Hello and happy Friday! Today's card is CASE of a project on page 12 of the Autumn Winter catalogue. To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything. I loved the Festive Farmhouse suite as soon as I saw it when I was flipping through the catalogue for the first time. The card in the red distressed tin jumped out at me and I knew that I'd want to recreate it. I fell for the tin too!
Instead of a regular sized card I decided to make a square one, just for a change and because the paper is checked. I have used the Corrugated embossing folder, which is one of the newer style dynamic folders. It is thicker than the regular embossing folders and embosses deeply. Just look at how deep the texture is.
I'm really happy that the dies that are part of the suite include a stitched edge banner. I am particularly fond of stitched edges, AND there is also a small stitched edge rectangle! The sample in the picture layers the die-cut banner onto a second banner formed from the Striped Burlap Trim. Two pieces of trim are cut to form a banner end. It's so effective. I layered things one more time and added a thin Cherry Cobbler strip (with banner ends, obviously!).
To
make the rustic bow I have deconstructed some of the Burlap trim and
selected a couple of strands in the natural colour together with the
Cherry Cobbler strand. Perfect coordination!
The centre piece was created by stamping the greeting twice; once in Mossy Meadow and again in Cherry Cobbler. These were then die cut, using the banner from this suite and a circle die from the layering circle set respectively.
