Ombré Perennial Birthday

I am delighted to be taking part in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for February!  Again, the theme is Favourite Spring/Summer or Sale-A-Bration Catalogue Products.  This catalogue is packed with so many wonderful products it was difficult to decide which products to use today!  The Perennial Birthday stamps are currently in use on my desk and so obviously, they are my current favourite!  Here goes!

The best bit about this Highlight is that you can vote for your favourite projects.  I would love it if you would vote for my project HERE.  The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so I would really appreciate it if you would VOTE for my project.

You can see the Spring/Summer catalogue HERE or the Sale-A-Bration catalogue HERE or the second release Sale-A-Bration brochure HERE.

I'm really rather chuffed with this card.  Why?  I've used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the multiple Happy Birthday images AND I only inked my stamp up ONCE.  That's right!  I inked up the stamp using Melon Mambo ink and stamped it onto some Whisper White card.  Then, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig without reinking the stamp, I stamped three more Happy Bithday images to create this beautiful ombré backdrop for the pretty flowers.  Repeatedly stamping the image has created perfectly graduated colour.

The flowers are stamped, fussy cut and popped up with Dimensionals and finished with a hint of glitter from the Wink of Stella glitter brush.  To complete the card there is a strip of 'ribbon' punched from Vellum on a layer of Melon Mambo card, all wrapped with some white bakers twine tied in a dainty bow.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I'd be delighted if you visited Kylie's blog to vote for my project.  I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop.

I hope you will have a go at the ombré stamping.  Happy crafting,

Perennial Birthday for Global Design Project #125

Welcome back to my blog.  Today I am sharing some cute notecards made with the new narrow notecards

I am entering them in the Global Design Project colour challenge.

I found this colour combination a bit of a challenge because Daffodil Delight isn't a colour that I regularly use.  I was determined not to let the colour choices defeat me, and after some experimentation I came up with these cute little notecards.  I hope you like them too!

I love Stampin' Up! kits.  The all inclusive ones, such as the Lots of Happy Card Kit and the Soft Saying Card Kit are perfect to take on holiday with you as they contain all the ingredients you need, including a stamp set, to make the cards and they are presented in a pretty box.  I showcased the  Lots of Happy Card Kit in a recent class we all enjoyed making up the cards.  They are also great to make at home!

The Perennial Birthday Project Kit is going to ensure that I don't forget a birthday in the future.  The kit comprises of a gorgeous box that contains dividers, with space to record birthdays for each month, and supplies to make 16 cards.

There is a coordinating stamp set to this kit, which is purchased as a separate item, and I have used these Perennial Birthday stamps to make my cards today.  On the first one I have used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to create the focal point.

First, I stamped Happy Birthday in Dapper Denim on to a layer of Whisper White card and also on to the index sheet of the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  Then I cleaned my stamp before inking it up again in Berry Burst.  Next, I created the Berry Burst shadow - line up the image on the index sheet over the image on the card creating a shadow or halo just to the left.  Once happy with the placement use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp on to the actual card.  Hey presto there is a Dapper Denim image with a Berry Burst shadow!

For the background I've repeatedly stamped the dotty images in Daffodil Delight, stamping off on to scrap paper first.  The flowers are stamped, fussy cut and sparkled with a swish from the Wink of Stella glitter brush.  Basic Pearls add the finishing touch!

For this second narrow notecard the base is made from Dapper Denim card and I used my Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to create the background on the Whisper White layer - colour liberally with the lightest pen, add the darker colour down the centre and blend out using the lightest colour again to create the graduated look.

As before, the flowers are stamped and fussy cut out.  The flower centres are basic pearls coloured with Blends.  So pretty.

I have had a lot of fun making cards with the stamp set.  I'll put them in my fabulous box.  I'm feeling organised!!  Do you have a list of birthday cards to send over the next few months?

Happy crafting,

Customer Thank Yous For January

It's not a secret!  Making pretty cards from gorgeous products makes me happy.  Hopefully, the customers who shopped with me during January will enjoy opening this fun little card.

I've used the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper on top of a layer of Bermuda Bay card, embossed with the Seaside pattern, which sits on a Dapper Denim card base.  The patterned paper is thick and sturdy, lavishly adorned with glitter.  The sparkle definitely adds to the magical theme!

Can you see the narrow band of coordinating paper under the sentiment?  Matching up the colours was very easy because all I did was flip the unicorn paper to reveal a plainer, but still fabulous pattern, that I used as a band around my card.  To complete the coordination I wrapped a piece of the Sale-a-Bration shimmer ribbon over the strip.

The neat, simple thank you comes from the wonderful Wood Words stamp set.  The words and the coloured circles are punched out to quickly create the layered look.

A scrap of the lovely Unicorn/Dapper Denim patterned paper sat on my desk for a while until I saw the perfect opportunity to use it!  At a recent team stamping event we were shown some beautiful cards made with the new narrow notecards and some of the Sale-a-Bration stamps.  Aren't they cute?

This time the Dapper Denim pattern is layered onto a background of Lemon Lime Twist and together they form the backdrop for the stunning peacock, which is punched out using the Starburst punch.  Simply stunning!

Even though the cards have the same core ingredient - the specialty paper - they look completely different, and I love that about crafting.  There are so many possibilities.  What would you make with this gorgeous paper?

Thank you for reading today's post.  Happy Crafting,
