Sending Positive Thoughts again...

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, is the last day to earn Sale-A-Bration rewards and to order producds from the Coordination Product Release. One of my favourite items from the Coordination Release is the Nature's Thoughts dies that coordinate with the Positive Thoughts stamps and I have used them both on my card today.

My inspiration came from The Paper Players challenge this week, which come in the form of a Tic Tac Toe grid. There are so many creative possibilities here, and I was drawn to the bottom row: pink, butterflies, flowers.

http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2020/03/pp484-tic-tac-toe-challenge-from-joanne.html

For my background I used a sponge brayer and Petal Pink ink over an aperture cut into a scrap piece of card using the largest Layering Circle die. Repeatedly rolling the brayer over the bottom of the circle gives a greater depth of colour, and a gentle shading from the bottom to the top.

Some of the images were stamped directly on to this background and others were stamped and die cut (of course they could be fussy cut instead!). The colours I used were Petal Pink and Basic Grey. In addition, the fern leaf was stamped on Vellum using StazOn ink and then die cut. I only used a couple of glue dots to attach the Vellum to the card to allow the majority of the fronds floating to give as a natural look as possible.

I think that this sentiment is perfect! It is stamped and heat embossed in black on a strip of Vellum which wrapped around the Whisper White layer and secured on the reverse. Don't forget to use your embossing buddy on the Vellum to help to prevent stray specs of black embossing appearing!

To complete the card, the last steps were to add Metallic Pearls to the butterflies and the centre of the flower plus some spaltters from my Wink of Stella Glitter pen. Of course there were!

Capture the Good

Hello and welcome to my blog. Even though life is extremely strange at the moment I am grateful that the sun is shining outside and that I can continue to create. For sunshine on a card I am sharing the bright and cheerful card that I made for my daughter's birthday. She loves taking photos so the Capture the Good stamp set was perfectly apt and I also used some of her favourite colours.

I created a tone on tone background on the Lovely Lipstick card base by repeatedly stamping the words 'Snap, Click, Say Cheese...' using matching Lovely Lipstick ink. I quite often use this technique to give a bit of interst to an open space, providing texture but remaining totally flat. The camera image is stamped with StazOn ink and then watercoloured, using Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Lovely Lipstick and Gray Granite inks, with an Aqua Painter. I stamped the lens of the camera several times, trimmed a couple of circles and then stacked them to give some illusion of zoom.

'Smile...it's your day' is stamped in Pool Party ink on matching card and mounted on a Granny Apple Green layer. Bows and gems are made for birthdays so I added those too! Cards and photos make wonderful momentos - maybe my next project should be a scrapbook page to mark the occasion, or even a pretty box to keep them in.

Thank you for visiting today. If you want to purchase the items used for this card, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop.  You can follow the link or click on the pictures below of the products I have used today.

Keep youself safe and as always, happy crafting,

Fable Friends for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #TTTC056

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am so excited to be writing this as a Guest Designer for this week's Tic Tac Toe Challenge. The inspiration board looks like this:

https://tictactoechallenge.com/?p=2105&preview=true

I chose to use the column on the right hand side: Bow, Spring Sentiment, Rhinestones.

The card base is Seaside Spray and it's topped with a piece of Pacific Point Designer Series Paper. The squirrel from the Fable Friends set has been stamped with Stazon ink on Shimmery White card and watercoloured using an aquapainter with colours from a variety of ink pads. Once dry, it was cropped with one of the Layering Circle dies.

To avoid the card becoming too busy I made a simple background. The Happy Spring sentiment was repeatedly stamped in Pacific Point on a piece of Seaside Spray card. The first image used full strength ink and the rest were second or third generations. This way the background has texture, yet remains completely flat.

To tie all the components together and to add some definition I used Pacific Point to mount both the background layer and the squirrel image. To finish the card, and add the final elements from the Challenge Board. I wrapped some Bakers Twine around the layers, added a bow and a single Noble Peacock rhinestone.

Thank you for visiting today, I hope you approve! The card was fun to make - watercolouring is relaxing! I have thoroughly enjoyed being a Guest Designer on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge - follow the link to see more inspiration from the other designers.
