Wrapped in Plaid

Hello, and welcome to my blog. For today's card I am using the papers, stamps and coordinating punch from the Wrapped in Plaid suite. (The stamps and punch can be purchased as a bundle, saving 10% on the individual prices.) I have been very frugal with the Designer Series Paper and have made a little go a long way. There are just thin strips of paper at the top and bottom of the card front.

The layout for the card is one that I have used before, but this is a fresh take on it. Of course,  the card is exactly the same but with different papers and a different focal image! The emphasis is on the bold sentiment and you can see my alternative example here

The DSP is from a 6" x 6" stack, and my aim was to make as many cards as I could from one sheet of paper. So far, I have made three cards from a single sheet. There is still a small scrap of paper left over, and I am determined not to waste it.

The trees in the stamp set (and the tree images on the DSP) can be punched out with a coordinating punch, which makes the card production quick and easy. Using Night of Navy ink I stamped and punched three trees and then folded them in half lengthways. Using glue dots I assembled them to make a 3-d tree, which I mounted onto a Starburst punched shape.

The Christmas Greetings sentiment comes from the host-only stamp set called Greatest Part of Christmas. It is bold and beautiful and sits wonderfully next to the 3-d tree.
