Well Written meets Painted Seasons again

Welcome back to my blog for another pair of beautiful Spring birthday cards.  I really enjoyed the fresh looking cards I shared with you last time so today I have used the same colour combination, but the images are arranged in  a different way.

This time the images hug the corner of the card leaving a white open space for the dimensional words. The flower images were stamped on the white panel first and then the leaves were stamped behind the flowers.  This sounds complicated, but it is actually simple to do with the aid of some Post It Notes.

How do you achieve this? Stamp the large Grapefruit Grove flower towards the top of a Post It Note and then fussy cut it out, closely cropping the image around the edges. Use the stickyness from the Post It Note to cover up one of the Grapefruit Grove images on the white panel and then stamp the leaves - part of the image on the white card and the rest on the Post It Note.  When you remove the Post It Note the leaves appear behind the flower. Magic! And there is no sticky residue left behind! The white spaces between the flowers and succulents are filled with more leaves by repeating this process and then any further gaps are filled with the tiny Petal Pink images.

There is a lovely white expanse for the dimensional birthday sentiment. The sentiment is in two parts - a die cut element and a flat, two tone element. For the dominant, die cut element three die cut words are stuck on top of each other to give height and extra definition, which is then balanced by the flat, layered element. The simple trio of basic pearls finishes off the card.

The weather has been unusually warm for February over the past few days and it has been a joy to see the sun shining so brightly. These cards are bright and cheerful too - perfect for Spring birthdays. I hope you enjoyed my Spring inspired birthday cards today.
