Butterfly Gala Take 2 for Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop, January 2019

Welcome to my blog today.  I am taking part in Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop with other demonstrators from all over the world.  There is no given theme for this hop, but you are sure to be inspired by the creativity from the whole group.

I have chosen to use the Butterfly Gala suite for my card today because I am totally taken with the subtle gingham papers and the stunning butterflies.  The papers are so fresh and remind me that we don't have long to wait for Spring.  So, using each colour in the Gingham Gala paper pack I've made a selection of cards using the same card recipe.

I love making cards.  There are those specifically for birthdays, anniversaries, congratulations and thank you's, as well as those sympathy cards that everyone dreads having to send.  The sentiment for this card is one of those fabulus ones that are wonderful to put on a card to send out of the blue and for no particular reason!

It is stamped onto a Stitched Shape die-cut circle of Whisper White that sits on top of a Basic Black Starburst punched circle.  For each card, I stamped and punched a set of butterflies: one large and one small that are layered on top of each other, and then an additional small butterfly to accompany the sentiment.  Each butterfly is coloured using the ink that corresponds with the paper and the appropriate solid stamp.

Have you seen the Sale-A-Bration organdy ribbon?  It's a pack containing five spools of ribbon and you can choose it for FREE when you make a qualifying purchase.  They coordinate perfectly with the papers,as do the adhesive backed sequins that are also part of the suite.  To finish the cards I have added three basic rhinestones: one to the single flower sequin and one to each of the butterflies' bodies.

I'm really happy with these cards.  Not only is the card recipe simple and easy to replicate, but I have chopped and used some pretty papers instead of hoarding them!

Each piece of 6" x 6" paper will make two of these cards, with an extra strip of paper left over.  I used the fabulous New Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the strips for a bonus card, which was inspired by one of the samples on page 34 of the Spring Summer catalogue.  I've added a flower sequin to four of the strips and there was a perfect place for a butterfly next to the "a little note" sentiment.

Now all I need to do is to put pen to paper and send out a whole bunch of happy cards in the post.  Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and for being part of our blog hop!  I really hope that you find lots of ideas that inspire you to create something special.  You are currently at my blog - Karen Henderson.  So check the list below to see who is next on the list.  Make sure you don't miss any!
